2020-2021 will be a unique year and Room Parents are still needed!

Here is some information regarding being a Room Parent.

There can be one Room Parent, or more than one, per classroom.  Being a room parent involves...

  • Budgeting

  • Class Parties (Virtually if need be)

  • Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6th- May 10th)

  • Teacher Birthday

  • Communication Liaison for PTA/CEF events (Carnival, Gecko Run, Dinner Auction, etc.)

  • Adopt a Family

  • CEF Basket for the CEF Dinner & Auction (April 6th)

How do you get started at the beginning of the year as a Room Parent?

  • Meet with your teacher- discuss class parties, timing for parties, needs for the classroom or classroom projects, review food policy and allergies.

  • Bring Request for Classroom Funds letter (see below) if the teacher wants to review, get a class list and emails from your teacher.

  • Review Teacher's Favorites List (most should already have received an email about their teacher's favorites)

and find out your teacher’s birthday.

Helpful Tips for Parties...

  • Keep it Simple!

  • Virtual Parties can involve zoom-friendly games (acting improv, scavenger hunt, riddles, Win Lose or Draw, Wheel of Fortune, mad libs, etc.)

  • Decorations aren’t necessary.

  • 4-5 Stations per party (Kids LOVE games and crafts).

  • Follow the food policy.
