ROOM PARENT

There can be one or more Room Parents per classroom.  Being a room parent involves:

  • Budgeting

  • Class Parties

  • Teacher Appreciation Week (May)

  • Teacher Birthday

  • Communication Liaison for PTA/CEF events (Carnival, Gecko Run, Dinner Auction, etc.)

  • Adopt a Family

First things first- Getting Started as a Room Parent:

  • Meet with your teacher- discuss class parties, timing for parties, needs for the classroom or classroom projects, review food policy and allergies.

  • Bring Request for Classroom Funds letter (see below) if the teacher wants to review, get a class list and emails from your teacher.

  • Review Teacher's Favorites List (most should already have received an email about their teacher's favorites)

and find out your teacher’s birthday.

Helpful Tips for Parties:

  • Keep it Simple!

  • Decorations aren’t necessary.

  • 4-5 Stations per party (Kids LOVE games and crafts).

  • Follow the food policy.
